Stated purpose of an Integrated Regional Strategy

To set out the ‘overarching strategic framework’ for the region
To deliver the outcome of ‘Sustainable Economic Growth’: “Economic growth that can be sustained and is within environmental limits, but also enhances the environment and social welfare, and avoids greater extremes in future economic cycles”
To contribute to sustainable development and respond to climate change

YHREF will be contributing to the development of the IRS by responding to each phase as well as providing specific guidance relating to 'environmental limits'. All notes and submissions will be published below.
