The coalition Government has abolished many of the structures and policies at the Yorkshire and Humber regional level. City regions will play a much bigger part in sustainable development.
This page has been set up to share information about environment policy in the Hull and Humber Ports city region.
The Hull & Humber Ports City Region covers four local authority areas on both sides of the Humber Estuary, reflecting the key economic driver of the city region – its status as the UK’s largest port complex by tonnage, and the fourth largest in northern Europe.
The four councils in the City Region are Hull City, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire - all unitary authorities. The total population of the area is 900,000 and there are 360,000 employees in employment.
