Yorkshire Forest Website an International Winner

Yorkshire’s White Rose Forest website has won the Association Website of the Year accolade in the Kentico International Awards.

The website, which will be formally launched in April 2010, is the result of collaboration between five local authority partners led by Kirklees and including, Calderdale, Bradford, Leeds and Wakefield.

Developed by Leeds-based NetConstruct, a Kentico Gold Partner, the site was one of only four from the UK to figure in the 16-strong awards list. The awards had a truly international flavour with the majority going to the USA and others as far afield as Australia.

Commenting on the award, White Rose Forest Project Manager, Guy Thompson of Kirklees Countryside Unit said: “The White Rose Forest is a dynamic, forward thinking partnership whose energy and diversity has been captured by Netconstruct’s inspirational design and use of interactive mapping features. Yorkshire Forward funding has been decisive here and we look ahead to developing a genuinely useful and informative website to secure investment for and promote our natural environment and green spaces “

NetConstruct managing director David Bentley added: “This is a great accolade for the White Rose Forest and ourselves. Kentico is a market-leading provider of Microsoft . NET content management systems (CMS) and was fifth in the Deloitte 2009 Fast 500 Awards for Central Europe
