AuthorCate Hammond
DateMonday, January 11, 2010
Topic Planning, Land & Flood Defence Environment Governance & Civic Participation Infrastructure

On Monday 18th Jan we have a stakeholders leadership group meeting to  share and discuss our evidence to the IRS, share ideas, discuss complementary or conflicting elements etc. Others there wil be the Regional Forum, TUC, Chambers of Commerce, Yorkshire Universities and the Federation of Small Businesses

It will be a useful opportunity to share the YHREF messages and to bring others on board.

Would either component YHREF groups, or the YHREF collective be willing to share any thinking so far or any evidence we have so far?

Response 1 - Nick Sandford, Woodland Trust

There are a few specific documents from the Woodland Trust which are relevant to the evidence gathering exercise.

  • Space for People data on woodland access in each local authority in the region.
  • Space for Nature report which identifies ancient woodland concentrations and our priorities for woodland creation to enhance biodiversity.
  • Making Woodland Count. Our report on the economic, social and environmental benefits of woodland.
  • The Water and Biodiversity report on ways in which trees and woodland can improve water quality and help alleviate certain types of flooding.
