By pooling the significant research strengths of the region’s universities with knowledge contained within innovation-lead businesses, Yorkshire’s new Centre for Low Carbon Futures will deliver knowledge and solutions designed to optimise carbon efficiency within businesses, organisations and communities.
Strong business performance and efficiency will be achieved by those organisations able to move their operations onto a sustainable basis, adapt to the shifting environment, and seize the opportunities provided by a rapidly changing world. The Centre will encourage and facilitate regional, national and international collaborations and partnerships to ensure the generation of new research outputs and the transfer of knowledge.
The Centre will address the questions posed in developing a low carbon future from two complementary perspectives, life-cycle carbon management and climate change impacts and adaptation.
