The Yorkshire and the Humber Select Committee have announced they will shortly be publishing the written evidence submitted to its inquiry into Carbon emissions in the Yorkshire and the Humber Region. All of the documents will be available from the Committee web page here:
www.parliament.uk/parliamentary_committees/yorkshire/yorkshire_reports_and_publications.cfm
The Committee received written evidence that looked at the levels of carbon emissions, reducing carbon emissions, and the low-carbon economy.
The Committee has not had time to publish a Report before the forthcoming General Election and they have recommended that any future Yorkshire and Humber Committee appointed after the Election should continue the inquiry.
As you will be aware, the House of Commons agreed to the formation of regional select committees (RSCs) and regional grand committees. The changes came into effect on 1 January 2009 and will have effect until the end of the current Parliament. Neither the Liberal Democrats nor the Conservatives nominated members to any RSCs.
